Brendan McBreen is a member of Auburn’s Striped Water Poets. Published in various places, including Leading Edge, Bellowing Arc, Bottle Rockets, Origami Condom, and Crab Creek Review. Brendan enjoys haiku, surrealism, cats, teriyaki, is an artist, and has a collection of crow feathers, stuffed lions, and plastic aquarium plants, but no aquarium. Poetry should inspire and challenge the imagination. Brendan’s poetry is often influenced by dreams in all their varied forms, and sometimes influenced by reality (but not often). Currently pursuing a degree in psychology via the University of Phoenix.

Lisa D. Schmidt lives in Federal Way, where she works as an orchestra teacher and violist. Much of her poetry is influenced by her love of the natural world, and of the Pacific Northwest in particular. Her poems can be found in recent issues of Avocet, Windfall, Quarterly West, The Evansville Review, and The Bitter Oleander. She was awarded second place in the 2009 King County Libraries’ Annual Poetry Contest.
