Mendip Challenge

Mendip Challenge 2020 - UPDATE

Over the last few weeks, we have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely, and although MotorsportUK have announced measures for restarting events, with the current government restrictions and additional mitigation that will be required in order to run an event, such as prohibiting spectators and setting out sections to be risk averse, it will be much more difficult for these to occur. Ensuring a positive view on Motorsport throughout the UK is key, and therefore promoting and running an event that often attracts competitors from the around the country, whilst we are still enduring this pandemic could be seen as irresponsible. We have therefore taken the difficult decision to postpone this years event. This will be disappointing news to many, however in the current circumstances, we feel this is the correct course of action. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself, or Mark Pritchard, Club Chair. Thanks, Will SWLRC Competition Secretary

Thanks to all who came along to the 2019 Mendip Challenge. We will release the 2020 date as soon as it has been set.

Many Thanks!

The decision has been made to move the 2019 Mendip Challenge earlier into the year, to hopefully have some wet and muddy land, something that Lambs Leer is famous for!

Therefore, the 2019 Mendip Challenge will be held from Friday 12th April to Sunday 14th April 2019

Booking is now OPEN!

Or downloadable forms at bottom of page.

Catering, Burger Bar and Bar available all weekend!!

The SWLRC would like to invite you to the Mendip Challenge from the 12th - 14th April 2019, at one of our best sites up on the stunning Mendip Hills - Lambs Leer, Nr. West Harptree, Somerset. (BS40 6EN)

As last year, we will also be running the Mendip Team Challenge for each competition. In which three drivers will compete for the overall lowest score in one disipline, eg RTV or CCV. There is a separate trophy for both the RTV and CCV Competitions, and no charge for being entered into this. So why not enter for a little bit more competition?

Saturday 13th - RTV + Team Challenge

Sunday 14th - CCV + Team Challenge

As always this is an ALRC event, and therefore all vehicles competing must comply with these rulings. This year we will be allowing Q Class entrants, please ensure you read the regulations and are able to compete.

Many thanks to our main sponsor this year, TBC. As well as thanks to our trophy and raffle sponsors.

Our chosen charities are Dorothy House and the Great Western Air Ambulance.

There will be a raffle each day after trialing in aid of the trust and, there will also be buckets for donations of loose change. Please give generously.

Marshalling - As always, we are looking for marshals for this years events, both the RTV and CCV will require a number of marshals to ensure that the event goes ahead. For more information on what this entails, and to sign up to marshal - please click here

Also - Trophy Sponsors - We are looking for trophy sponsors, these are £50 each. As this is our clubs event, please dig deep, and do not leave it upto the same people every year.

We will have a small amount to purchase on-site, however we will be able to order in extra items if requested. Please talk to Jane in Rally Reception at the event.
