Mike Malinin left the Goo Goo Dolls in December 2013. He was with the band for 19 years, starting with the A Boy Named Goo tour in 1995.Â
Mike filed a lawsuit in November 2014, claiming he was fired out of the blue while on paternity leave. His wife gave birth to their twin son and daughter less than a month before he was let go. Mike alleged his finances were "decimated" and he was forced to sell his California home and move to the more affordable Nashville area.
Mike reached an out of court settlement with the rest of the band in May 2015. He played drums for Tanya Tucker for almost 7 years. He currently plays with Americana band The FBR.
