Fundraising

CAN YOU HELP? Local groups throughout the country have to fund their own programmes, pay for their own regional games, entries, transport, training, sports kit etc.

Fund raising is a continual problem for us as most of our volunteers are already involved with training, escorting and caring for our athletes. Many are carers or parents of athletes and together with their involvement with special Olympics and having a family member who need special care, time for fund raising is particularly hard to find. Yet without it we cannot survive. Trust funds & companies who have supported us over the last year can be found on the sponsors page. These are some of the fund raising events to come and ones we've recently held.

Fundraising Achievements

Sponsored Swim : Fifteen of our swimmers raised £701.25 last year by doing a sponsored swim. They swam between 800 metres (32 lengths) and 1500 metres (60 lengths). ! Thanks to everyone who sponsored the swimmers.

Many thanks to those who have support events in the past. The athletes are being entered into many events this year and cost of these so far is almost £28,000. We are all unpaid volunteers and we do not receive funding from the local authority. We there for have to raise the whole amount ourselves. This gets harder very year with  more and more people relying on charitable donations. If anyone is able to do a sponsored event for us or hold a raffle at work or amongst their friends, please let us know. Every donation received however small is gratefully received.  If you have any ideas please contact Christine Eaton on the number shown in the contact details
