Atmospheric Microbiome

DNA metabarcoding of bioaerosols

By using DNA-based techniques such as quantitative PCR (qPCR) and high throughput sequencing (HTS), we studied physical properties and processes of indoor and atmospheric bioaerosols. For example, we incorporated environmental genomics approaches into building science to assess indoor human exposures to pathogenic bioaerosols. We also applied DNA metabarcoding to atmospheric bioaerosols to characterize their involvement in climate systems such as precipitation.
