So with that in mind, perhaps you would enjoy a close getaway Aug 8-10 to the Portage Count Fair Grounds in Amherst, WI. Max Ink favs “Reptile Palace Orchestra” are headlining on Friday evening plus there will be vendors, workshops and lots more. My favorite unknown band name at the festival is “Screaming Snopek Strawberry Daydream."2007- Fall Edition of The Family Friend
This photo appeared on the top of the Snapshots page of the "The Family Friend" magazine. Back in 2004 we saw a 3 year old sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and that is when I though, our family could do a song. Our band was started on the inspiration that we received from that performance. So the next year we had our family band play a short medley of songs. This stage with its rounded shell wall, is at one end of a large hall that was built in 1917. It is our favorite place to perform. 2006-07-01 Waukesha Freeman Newspaper

Snopeks bridge time for family band
By JUSTIN KERN - GM Today Staff July 1, 2006
From left, Shaun, Henry, 11, Jack, 7, Clara, 3, and Anna Snopek, 7, all of The Screaming Snopek's Strawberry Daydream Band, pose in their home Friday. They have been playing together for about a year. Somewhere stylistically between The Beatles’ psychedelic era and the 1970s Saturday morning children’s show "School House Rock," you’ll find The Screaming Snopek's Strawberry Daydream Band. And some time between elementary school, Girl Scouts and group viewings of episodes of "The Partridge Family," you’ll find the five-piece act honing their music chops at their practice space, which is essentially their living room with the addition of a drum set.
Comprised of five members of the Snopek family ranging in ages from 3 to 40, the band took in its first paying gig Tuesday as the band with the youngest members to ever perform at the "Local Talent Jammers" concert. The band name, set list - like renditions of Bow Wow Wow’s "I Want Candy" and the traditional "Yankee Doodle Dandy" - and practice schedule are at the whim of its youngest members, said family father, guitarist Shaun Snopek.
"It all just kind of fell out of the sky," Shaun Snopek said.
Organizers of the semi-regular event were surprised at the young ages of
some in the Snopeks’ band, including 3-year-old Clara, who hid her vocal talents behind
a NUK for this gig. But the grant-funded program was able to bring the Screaming
Snopek's Strawberry Daydream Band together with some high school hard rock bands
and a few dozen park amphitheater patrons, said program co-founder Barb Church.
"This is the mission of the program, to bring out talent and to go across generations," Church said.
In addition to Shaun and sometimes Clara, that means hearing the Ringo Starr-inspired,
cocktail-style drums of Henry Snopek, the one-year seasoned guitar work of his brother
Jack and their sister Anna’s professionally trained keyboard skills. While the Frame Park
show marked a few firsts for the band, Anna said it didn’t match the experience of
overcoming nerves from playing in front of hundreds of students at Elementary School,
where she and her brothers attend.
"I was shaking a little in front of the tons and tons of people," said 8-year-old Anna.
However, Jack, 7, seems ready for an opening slot at Summerfest, with his mean solo in
the band’s version of the Avril Lavigne hit "Sk8ter Boi" and a cool demeanor toward his
instrument of choice.
"I like guitar. It looks cool," he said.
Julie Snopek, mother, band manager, hasn’t scheduled her aspiring Partridge Family band
to open for Tom Petty as part of Summerfest - or even Barney - any time soon.
Shaun Snopek said it’s hard enough getting his kids together with school out and summer
fun calling, though it’s always important when The Screaming Snopek's Strawberry Daydream Band
does get together.
"It’s family time when we can get together," he said.
