We love to know and meet other musicians!
Clara & Aly got to meet Echosmith at their show at the Rave in Milwaukee. The band was very cool and the girls had a blast!

1. We watched Talan Latz put on a great show at Guitar Fest. Jack and Anna got to talk to him after the show. Jack gave him one of his new guitar picks.
2. A little while later Jack is playing the guitar he is hoping to get someday and Greg Koch walks by, so I got this great shot of Greg with Jack. Jack studies guitar from some of the books that Greg has written. Jack really enjoyed watching Greg play and talk about guitar and other things. Later we learn that Greg played on one of Uncle Siggie's songs that Jack really likes.
4. Minutes later, Jack is trying out his new guitar in the back seat of the van.
3. Later that evening, Jack was very excited because he actually won a new guitar with a whammy bar. This was the same guitar he was playing earlier. He had been hoping to get a guitar with a whammy bar for some time.
We had a great time at Summerfest today. We met Erin McCarley on the Mayercraft II earlier this year where she said that Julie looks like Elisabeth Shue, so when Julie waved to her from the eighth row, Erin said "Hey, look everyone, it's Elisabeth Shue. We met up after the show and got this great picture in the rain. We really enjoy Erin's music and she put on a great show check her out on the Web at http://erinmccarley.com/
Then we saw Brett Dennon who also put on a great show. We were first introduced to Brett and his music when we were on the Mayercraft I last year, where he autographed a CD for Jack. Jack bought Bretts new CD and was very excited that he got it autographed and then got his picture with Brett. Check out this shot of Julie, Jack, Brett, and Anna. We all had a blast seeing the Disney act Jonnie & Brookie at the Winter Festival 2009. Jonnie and Brookie have been singing since they were very young. Their video is featured on the latest Jonas Brothers DVD. During the show Anna and Clara stood up near the stage. Brookie gave Anna a free CD, which she loves and listens to a lot. At the end of the show Clara got their set list from Jonnie. Our seats were in the last row and Jack was extremely lucky to find a pass for 6 family members to go to the the meet and greet after the show. The kids got autographs and we took some photographs. We also talked to their manager (Dad). After he heard that we had a family band, he gave all of the kids guitar picks. Jack thought that was very cool as did we all. They are a really nice family and we thank them for showing us a great time.
Please check out Jonnie and Brookie on the web and request their songs on Radio Disney: http://jonnieandbrookie.com/

Another musician that we have known forever is our uncle Sigmund Snopek III.
We love to visit dad's brother for the holidays of course and sometimes he has the Screaming Snopek's as an opening act.
Through the years, Snopek has led diverse rock bands, including the Bloomsbury People (MGM) and the popular band "Snopek." He has successfully balanced a demanding performance schedule with his career as composer.
Playing for live audiences has been a major factor in his ability to continue write and adapt music that is as appealing in the year 2000 as it was in 1970. A typical performance features Snopek playing flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and various horns in addition to his signature vocal and keyboard solos. His instrumental versatility has put him in high demand as a sideman for other performers.
He has traveled internationally with the Violent Femmes, and been featured on recordings by many well-known artists including the Femmes, Tom Paxton, and many more.

Years ago our dad joined his favorite band for what seemed to be only a moment.
He had listened to Ecotour's Decorated Life CD all summer back in 1988. His brother Sigmund had given him the CD and it was our dad's favorite. In December 0f 1988, he was asked to join the band. This was a dream come true and he is grateful for having the opportunity to be part of the band, even if it was only for a short time. He left the band in July. It was a great learning experience for him. He never recorded a CD with the band but he was in their music video which was featured on MTV's 120 minutes of new music show. Our dad was the bass player and the guy who was riding his bike in the hallway at school.

Oh yeah we almost forgot our Grandma is in this Violent Femmes video.
It's true. When the Violent Femmes filmed a video for their cover of a T. Rex song called Children of the Revolution, they asked our grandma to be in it. She is the women getting her hair done on the far left. It was filmed at the Milwaukee Public Museum and Serb hall among other places. Uncle Siggie is in it too. Our Grandma is a great singer and piano player in her own right.
