Join us for the parade Saturday morning where we'll celebrate together!
Our class program on Saturday, May 24 is a showing of the film Where I Became by Jane Shang '80 and Tandiwe Njobe '94. It is a beautiful story about Smith scholarship and how attending Smith impacted the lives of 10 women from South Africa. After the screening, Professor de Villiers, Director Kate Geis, and two alums from our class will lead a Q&A session and discussion.
Also, Smith Provost Marilyn Schuster and Professor Emerita Susan Van Dyne, who created the Women's Studies program in the 1980s, will be at our Saturday dinner so folks can talk with them about how they created the program.
In addition, Leslie Fields '95, Smith College's Head of Specials Collections, is preparing a selection of items from the women's studies archival materials. They will be out for review/display in the glass room within the Special Collections Reading Room in Neilson Library on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
We're so excited to see you all!Â
