Many thanks to all our patrons for their patience and cooperation as we safely navigate the reopening process.

 We are pleased to announce that patrons are now able to make appointments

to come into the library for browsing shelves on the main floor or to use the computer. 

Please call (860)376-0024 for details and to make an appointment!  We look forward to seeing you!

Slater Library will Thursday, 12/24 and Friday 12/25 in observation of Christmas. We will also be closed Thursday, 12/31 and January 1st for New Year's.

The library's front foyer remains open for in-person, mask-to-mask service:

Pick up ordered materials

Have copies made

Have faxes sent

Great Used Books and DVDs for Sale in the foyer!

Curbside pickup will also continue to be available.

                 There is a bin provided to return materials in the foyer as well as the return bin outside.      

        Staff will not accept materials in hand and all items are set aside for 3 days before being checked in and 

backdated to the day they were returned.

Materials from the main floor and children's area may be requested with a total 

of 10 items for adults checked out at a time.
 
You can check the available books and DVDs on our online catalog 

@ slater.biblio.org or by downloading the Acorn Catalog App to your phone or tablet.

 You can also call the library @ (860) 376-0024 to request the materials that 

you would like to check out. 

A librarian will call you back to let you know what items are available.

There are designated parking spots and signage to help with picking up materials.

Now is the perfect time to get a library card! Residents of Griswold and Lisbon can stop in the 

foyer and sign up for a card. 

All you need is an ID with your Griswold or Lisbon address. 

Your library card gives you access to books, dvds, magazines and audiobooks as well as our

ebooks through our digital platform, Libby.

Digital library cards will continue to be available by emailing slaterlibrary@yahoo. Please include

name, address, birthday and phone number.

The Libby app continues to be available with your valid library card to download books and audiobooks

on your phone or tablet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for information about downloading the app.

Newly added to our platform of ebooks and audiobooks and is Simply E. Download the Simply E app and check

out the list of new titles available through the Connecticut State Library's eGO platform. 





         While we are unable to have in-person programs, we hope that you will drop by the library 

and pick up a children's craft project to create at home!

Crafts kits are available at the desk in the front foyer and by curbside pick up.






Join us for a special Facebook Cooking Class with Chef Rob!

Stop by Slater Library to sign up and pick up the recipes for a Holiday Cookie Workshop!

This class is for all ages and is sponsored by Friends of Slater Library
 
The Facebook link will be sent to participants, which you can watch live on Saturday, December 12th at noon or 

can be watched at your leisure for a few weeks if you need to.




We miss you all at Slater Library, but being apart doesn't mean that we can't stay connected! One 

way to stay in touch is to join us on the Slater Fox Trail! Print a picture of Slater Fox (below) and 

take him with you on your social distancing adventures! Snap a picture of Slater Fox at a location or 

with you doing something fun. Parents can share the pictures with us via our email: 

slaterlibrary@yahoo.com and we will share to our Facebook page. If you don't have a printer and 

would like to pick up a hard copy of Slater Fox, drop by the library during business hours.
