Our interests center around fabrication and investigation of nanometer scale structures, engineering properties based on rational design principles, and their exploitation within functional devices, materials and interfaces. Our current interests focus on developing successful nanotechnologies for biomedical applications, e.g. plasmonic biosensors, theranostic devices, miniaturized sensing devices/kits. Beyond medicine, these technologies are applicable in air/water quality monitoring, food & beverage, security and space sectors. Besides fundamental investigations of nanoscale properties and nanostructure interaction with its environment, our interests extends to developing technologies suitable for transfer to industry, and generating valuable intellectual property. In this direction, we emphasize scalability, manufacturing compatibility and quality assurance as integral to what we do.
