The Opendata Visualization Contest was held on 3rd Nov. 2016 at mainly in D-03 Booth in Exibition Hall of Kobe International Convention Center.
The program was as follows.

15:30 - 15:35 Demo Overview (Ismail Arai, Chair of the contest)
15:35 - 15:50 Contest (5 minutes presentation for each group)
15:50 - 16:00 Award Ceremony
Dr. Shuichi Onami gave a keynote speech about a potential of visualization in biological open data.
We could know that there are tremendous biological open data all over the world and intoxicating charm of visualization results.
Mr. Yasuo Kimoto (Princeton Ltd.) who is a sponsor of the contest gave an introduction of the company and its production.
Dr. Ismail Arai (Contest Chair, National Institte of Technology, Akashi College) explained an overview of Demo.
Three presentators who can accomplish inplement each proposed demo by the day of SIGGRAPH ASIA 2015.
Ms. Yu Han selected the Task 1. for CFD Data. Though she takes part without sumitting her entry beforehand, it was a nice presentation.
Dr. Yoshi Fujiwara selected the Urban Data task. He showed a demo which is visualizing input-output data provided by Kobe city into a chord diagram by using D3.js.

Mr. Kiri Nakata, Mr. Tsuyoshi Tatsukawa and Dr. Ismail Arai selected the task 1 for SSBD. Mr. Kiri Nakata and Mr. Tsuyoshi Tatsukawa showed a demo which is visualizing cell divisions of embryos as a binary tree. Furthermore, the visualizing system could detect similar process of cell divisions from two different data.

As a result of judgement by four jurors, Kiri Nakata and Tsuyoshi Tatsukawa won both The Best Demo Award and Princeton Award!
All the presentator got each extra prize from Prinston Ltd. according to their rank.
