We believe that America is stronger when —
We value cooperation over competition and we welcome people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs in our communities.
We care for the safety and well-being of our neighbors and we serve as stewards of the natural world for ourselves and future generations.
We uphold the rights of all people to food, shelter, healthcare, education, and opportunities for gainful employment.
We require accountability, respect, and equal justice for all in the economic and legal systems.
We affirm our Constitutional right to the freedoms of speech, of peaceable assembly, of the press, and of religion, and we honor the rule of law.
We participate freely and equally in a government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people.
In order to defend and promote the foundations of this democratic ethic, we will —
Communicate more widely (at the local level) the values, identities, and agenda of a democratic society.
Encourage greater participation in town government by people who share these democratic values.
Collaborate with neighboring communities in order to develop, nurture, and implement progressive values and strategies.
Provide information and support legislation on the state and local level on issues such as immigration, health care, environment, social justice, women’s equality, affordable education, and diversity.
Design and prioritize actions that will unite diverse people and groups toward resisting threats to our democracy and preparing for the 2018 and future elections.
Engage the state Democratic committee in order to shape existing and future policy and platforms.
