Parameter Fitting Methodology of Quartz Crystal

Parameter Fitting Methodology of Quartz Crystal

A part of Ph.D. Dissertation in The University of Tokyo (2016)

A quartz crystal is the most important component to realize a crystal oscillator because the oscillation frequency of a crystal oscillator is determined by the characteristic of a quartz crystal. I have developed an accurate and systematic modeling methodology of the quartz crystals because I did not find good textbooks and journals relating to the parameter fitting of the quartz crystal. In order to share the basic idea for XO designers, I introduce the methodology of the accurate modeling for quartz crystals (in 10~40MHz) using a vector network analyzer.

Unfortunately, I do not check the consistency for the low-frequency quartz crystals (e.g., 32kHz). If you have any comments and findings (including typographical errors), please feel free to contact me anytime.
