One of the main reasons for studying a martial art is the development of a healthy mind and body. This can only be accomplished by training on a regular and systematic basis in a disciplined environment under an experienced instructor. A committed student regardless of age who trains on a regular basis in time will develop and show definite improvement both physically and mentally. The results will be obvious in increased self-confidence, improved concentration, physical fitness and awareness while at the same time developing self-defense skills. Children that learn the art of empty hand self-defense do not normally develop into a "bully". Quite the contrary, regular karate training teaches individuals to avoid confrontation and ultimately become better citizens.
