It appears to be the shortest, more direct, and most ecologically intact link across the Gatineau River from Gatineau Park.
In addition to Mont Lorne and Mont des Cascades, we should look into the property directly across from the corridor indicated on the NCC ecological corridor map. The attached edited Google image (should have used double ended arrows for movement patterns, sorry) shows a hill bounded on the upstream side by the stream draining Lac du Brochet, and on the downstream side by a stream draining a largish unnamed lake just to the west of the CCRS communication tower. That property also looks to be ecologically intact. Do you know anything about it? If the federal government owns a significant portion of it, it might be feasible to enter into discussions about ensuring that its biodiversity values are protected.
