Juan is an Assistant Research Fellow at the Research Center for Education Systems and Policy, NAER. His research focuses on the analysis of education policy, educational datasets, and curriculum and teaching policy.
After graduating from the Department of Chinese Literature, National Kaohsiung Normal University, he became a teacher at Tainan Municipal Chong-Ming Junior High School and covered with the work of the Department of student activities. He obtained his master’s degree and PhD from National Taiwan Normal University. He was also a Research Assistant in the Center for Educational Research and Evaluation, NTNU. He has served as an Assistant Research Fellow at the NAER since 2017.
His research interests include policy diffusion, network of Lesson Study as Learning Community(LSLC) , and students’ school life and sense of belonging. His PhD topic was “the policy diffusion of lesson study as a learning community.” He secured the first place research paper award for teacher education, awarded by the Ministry of Education. His most recent research project investigates the learning outcome of college students. In 2018, he obtained a grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan, to conduct a study on policy collaboration for improving teaching and learning programs.
