TEAMS & GOALS:
These are the teams and their goals, if you have not yet joined a team please think about what teams you will be part of. If that team does not appear in this list, please notify your Director.
ACTORS:
We finalized the cast! We had lots of great contenders (shout out to all those who auditioned) and a reminder it's not too late for us to add to our crew). To review the actors who will lend their talents to our production as the infamous 5, go to the ACTORS page. Look for headshots and bios from our cast there.
PREVISUALIZATION & STORYBOARDS
StoryBoarding has begun and is more than halfway done. We have and will continue to use, small camcorders and flip cams to grab stand-ins posing for the framing and position of key frames. We also have Poser a figure 3-D modelling program that allows us to create and move lights and cameras, allowing us a spectacular previz tool.
We have done a very rough stand in for all the major shots (except about 3 we realized we'd missed afterward) but there is a stand in for all the important stuff, excluding the opening montage and the stairwell scene. Running time, excluding those things just mentioned is 10 minutes (+- 2 or 3 minutes) Right On Target!!! Awesome! Next I will drop in the READING done by our actors and will have a (Very Rough) storyboard, that shows approximately what each shot will look like. This allows everyone to start filling in the blanks. Props, Costume, Camera get ready to bust a move, once we get our shot list (easy once the storyboard is done) the rubber meets the road, so get ready for it.
Art Department -
One logo concept.
We had our first glimpse at some design ideas from Rob. First up, our logo and intro, we've got a couple of good directions we could go.
Our art department is both pre-production and post production. Among the pre-production elements are the design of props - Matches, Cards, Cigarette Packs and the 'Bug' or recording device. These are needed before shooting begins. Watch here for more on Post Art Dept.
2nd Unit Production Crew-
This will be the group charged with doing test shots for the opening montage. This will require a small crew working primarily on green screen and composite shots with a stand in actor. Lots of good work possible here.
Cinematographer Search-
I'm pleased to report we have gotten some good submissions (shout out to everyone who submitted).
If all submissions are in, we should get on the same page about what is expected and I can choose.
All ShatterKind Members are encouraged to submit.

Assistant Director:
This person is responsible for calling the cast and crew together on time, for verifying that props, set, costume, all the elements necessary for shooting are where they need to be, when they need to be and that everything is prepared to shoot.
Costume and Makeup-
For this production we will be working with a blood bladder or sponge so there will be some heavy demands on our Costume and Makeup persons. We need costume fittings and multiples of Andy's shirt, we need dark jackets and a Hawaiian shirt. This is also where a big influence on the look of the character as well as the design of the costumes can be had.
Sound:
The production sound unit will monitor the recording, dress the set for sound and mic the performance.
There will be post production sound as well.
Grips Lead and Grip Team:
These are the people who set up and focus on lighting.
Gaff Lead and Gaffers:
These are the people who run electricity.
Camera Crew:
Self explanatory, some less obvious roles are, spotter (this person assists the camera operator when the camera is moving, such as track, jib or dolly shots.) Focus Puller: this person keeps the camera in focus by measuring shots and pulling the focus ring.
Script Supervisor:
Also known as Continuity Director, this person reads the script as the shots are tallied and verifies that the script is being followed as well as watching for continuity (aka, that cigarette was shorter in the previous shot) Watch here for some examples of continuity errors:
