• 05/18: Welcome to STAT 280!
  • Please install R and RStudio before the first day of class. Instructions can be found here.
  • Lab practicals will be held at the end of each lecture. Please bring your laptop to class every day.
  • If you have not already, please fill out the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/357HBK9 to give me an idea of your level of background experience with statistics and coding in R.
• 05/20: See typo correction on PS1b, Q5 on the Assignments page.
• 05/25: There will be no class on Monday, 05/25, due to observation of Memorial Day. The schedule will be adjusted accordingly.
• 05/26: A makeup class for today's lecture (Chapter 6) will be held on Wednesday, 05/27, from 8:45-10AM. Please read as much of Chapter 6 as possible before class tomorrow.

Course Description

This course is designed to introduce the student to statistical methodology useful for data analysis. Emphasis will be placed on applications through working examples and computer-assisted data analysis in lab sessions.
