I am an epileptologist and assistant professor in the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Neurology. I received my M.D. at Baylor College of Medicine, completed Neurology residency training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Neurology, and completed Epilepsy clinical fellowship in the UCSF Epilepsy Division. My Ph.D. is from the Rice University Department of Statistics under Dr. Marina Vannucci and Dr. Michele Guindani, with my post-doctoral training on single unit recording to understand memory changes in epilepsy in Dr. Loren Frank's lab at UCSF. My interests are in cellular circuits of memory and learning in epilepsy, electrical stimulation, seizure risk modeling, and development of Bayesian statistical methods for neuroimaging and count data.
I am currently a member of the American Statistical Association (ASA), American Epilepsy Society (AES), American Academy of Neurology (AAN), American Neurological Association (ANA), and International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM).
My methodological research interests are in:
Bayesian statistics
Neuroimaging and computational neuroscience
Methods for analysis of high-dimensional neuroimaging data, including fMRI, DTI, and PET
Clustering algorithms
Integrative statistical methods for combining data from multiple imaging modalities
Functional and effective network connectivity inference
Spatiotemporal data

My clinical research interests are in:
Memory and learning
Hippocampus
Neuromodulation
