Outreach

SCIENCE EDUCATION

My science outreach efforts typically involve middle-school aged and undergraduate students. These endeavors occur in formal and informal learning environments. Below are highlights from the Protein Science for Young Scholars mini-course that I taught for middle school students in June 2015.

With the help of Drs. Mentewab Ayalew, Yonas Tekle, and their colleagues at Spelman College, our girls learned about microbes.

HEALTH EDUCATION

I engage in activities that inform the general public on health issues related to my research. In particular, I focus on cancer awareness, lung diseases and heart diseases. Below are articles that refer to some of my cancer research as well as other views on fighting cancer.
