Mission Statement

Our name begins with Saint Francis, the patron saint who called all animals his "brothers and sisters", and refers to the "peaceful pause", a period of time between rescue and adoption when previously homeless animals are cared for in the loving environment of our foster homes.

Saint Francis Peaceful Pause believes that domestic cats and dogs, after being spayed and neutered, have a basic right to live out their lives in a safe, comfortable environment. Feral cats, after being spayed, neutered, and vaccinated, should be free to live in the the outdoors as long as shelter, food, water, and medical care are available. Otherwise, they need to be placed in foster homes or barns.
