Sample Information

Non-conductive samples must be coated by gold/platinum for high resolution images. For sputter coating, charges will be collected as mentioned in the “Usage charges” tab.

For solid samples the dimension should not be more than 20 mm x 20 mm x 15 mm. For any other kind of special samples which exceed the dimension mentioned above, special permission has to be sought from the instrument in-charge.

Solid samples must be thoroughly cleaned/ultrasonicated to prevent any contamination.

In case of magnetic samples, the sample condition should be informed to the operator before loading the sample for FESEM analysis.

Powder samples and magnetic samples must be properly reported in the requisition form.

Biological samples and liquid samples are strictly prohibited for FESEM analysis.
