Mastery Quiz is easy to use! Follow the steps below to get started!
Installation
Simple! Click Here to install from the Chrome Web Store! Once installed, Mastery Quiz will be enabled in any new spreadsheet you create in your Drive.
Step 1: Create a Form to act as a question bank
Start by creating or finding a Google Form you wish to use as a question bank. This Form should have a large number of questions (15+). Make sure to select "Make this a quiz" in the Form settings.
Also make sure that you create an answer key for all questions in this quiz, and give point values to each question in the Form. I recommend setting the point values for each question to "1". In addition, under the Form's settings you must select "Collect email addresses", "Restrict to users in [your domain]", and "Limit to 1 response".
Step 2: Create a new Spreadsheet to act a class roster for the quiz
Create and open a new blank spreadsheet in your Google Drive.
From the "Add-Ons" menu, select "Mastery Quiz" -> "Start". You will be asked to choose a Google Class to send quizzes to, and a Form file to act as a question bank (this is the one you created in Step 1).
Step 3: Launch quizzes!
Now you are ready to send quizzes to your students!
Select the number of questions per quiz, the number of attempts students are allowed (default is 4), and a grading scale. All students' grades are assigned to a 4-point scale, but you can choose the % score students must achieve to reach 1, 2, 3, or 4 points on the assignment.
Select "Create GC Assignment" to start the assignment for the quiz. Students will find their quizzes in a new Google Classroom assignment. That's it!
When you want to end an assignment, select "End current assignment", and quizzes will no longer be graded by the program or resent.
