Prepare images, photos, tables, figures, charts, graphs, or illustrations, etc. in digital format.
Submit each image, photos, table, figure, chart, graph, or illustration, etc. as its own separate file, NOT embedded in the text.
Indicate in the manuscript where each image, photos, table, figure, chart, graph, or illustration, etc. is to be placed using the following format: [INSERT FIGURE #]. Insert at least three lines of space between the narrative text and the phrase [INSERT FIGURE #].
All image, photos, table, figure, chart, graph, or illustration, must be prepared so they can be used exactly as they are. The publisher will NOT do manipulations of such material, except to convert color to black and white.
Images submitted in color will remain in color in the online version. For the paper version of the journal, tables, illustrations photographs will be converted to black and white with some loss of quality.
Tables, graphs, and charts, etc. can be pasted into Microsoft Word and submitted as .docx files.
Prepare them in black and white (or grayscale), not color. If you submit them in color, the publisher will convert them to black and white, obliterating the contrast and making them difficult to interpret.
The preferred format for photos or images is .tiff, .psd, or .eps files. While .png and .jpg file formats are acceptable, some detail may be obscured.
The publisher will accept photographs, screen shots, etc., in color or black and white. The online version will retain original color photographs, but for the paper version, photographs will be converted to black and white with some loss of quality.
Illustration files should be large enough that the detail does not blur—typically 1 MB or more.
