Ice Cream Cone, 2009

Most of these are very casual pieces. The painting above is my tweak of the famous Rene Magritte piece This Is Not a Pipe. I say "this really is an ice cream cone," not because I don't get and appreciate the political point Magritte is making, but rather because, for me, the painting of life, being a "life painter," does entail some mystical transfer of the object onto the paper. Don't ask me how. But as a realist painter, such is my aim.
