Question from grandma of novice player: he just started playing chess, but I play even worse than him - I always lose. Is it useful to play chess with him? He won't learn anything from me.
A: It is definitely useful. The reason is that novice doesn't learn much from his opponent, he learns mostly from himself! He just started thinking about different moves, different possibilities (attacking and defensing) on the board, everything is new for him. It doesn't really matter whom he play against. I would say it's better (more natural) is he plays human, not computer. If he plays computer (better to play computer than not to play at all), then computer should be set to the lowest possible level, that small kid win most of the games. I think that for 3-6 years old kid it is important that he wins most of games, so it is great that you lose to him. Continue playing!
