Schenck and Hageman (Hegeman) ancestry

6 Sep 2020        Google has decided to abolish these old "classic" sites in favor of a paradigm that does not allow colors or sizes, so the Adrian Hageman family (in purple below) fades into obscurity by blending with the rest of the text.  I find this change atrocious  but you can help by clicking this link https://sites.google.com/view/schenck-family-genealogy/home to see the new site.  I'd like you to send feedback to tell Google that the new paradism makes it extremely difficult to see things of importance that the old site made easily visible. Thanks.  (There is a link on the new site back to this page so that you can continue easily after registering your feedback.)

We welcome your suggestions for improvement.  Participation appreciated.

The Schenck family is far too numerous for me to attempt a thorough listing, but if you have information to contribute about your line, I can link to your site or post your information here.

With luck and perserverence, we can build a wonderful genealogy of the Schenck family, a Schenck family history.

In the Sidebar (to the left), note the link to Schenck deeds in Ohio (Photos).

For now, here is a direct link to the Adrian Hageman family

Hi Carol,

Doesn't Jean do good work?  You can add attachments or pictures.  I'll do more another day.

Hi cousin Jean,

AttaGirl.  I clicked on "More Actions" then on "Manage Site" and observed that you've changed the Hageman page.  Wonderful.  Looks good.  I'll leave this "front page" with instructions up for a while.  You can delete the instructions whenever you want.

and here is a direct link to the Ruliff Schenck family.

Once you've logged on to Google, you will see a  menu bar across the top of the browser with an underlined more in blue.

Click that and find the menu item "Sites",

Click that and it will show your Google sites, being this one, Schenck Family Genealogy

Click that and you will see this page with a push button to the right labeled Edit Page.

Click that and the page is ready for modifications.

If you have a copy of your old AOL page open in another browser window, you can "select all" copy and paste it right here.  Google does the rest.

Once you have opened the page for edits, a menu bar appears above the left side of the page with Insert  Format  Table  Layout.

I chose "Layout" from the menu bar above and picked simple column, but other layouts and templates are available.

At the moment, the sidebar has

Family blog

Family map

Family Profiles

and Photo Albums

They could be useful -- or not - there is an Edit sidebar link under the sidebar when you are logged in to Google.

so I added the (Hegeman) above.  Just guessing that search engines have more difficulty with Hegeman/Hageman.

If you want to be informed whenever anyone changes a page or the site, click on "More Actions" button then "subscribe to site changes" or subscribe to page changes.

Best wishes & love from cousin Ron Beatty
