TE Annotation

In the spring of 2010, I led an effort to coordinate expertise at the University of Texas at Arlington on the annotation of transposable elements in whole genome sequence data. This was a team effort involving many people from UTA, especially those in Pritham, Feschotte, and Christensen labs (see handout for a complete list of names). The result was a one-day workshop on TE annotation that served as a primer for individuals interested in knowing how to mine the TEs in their genome of interest. A pdf of the instructions we used to run the workshop is available here*, and I am happy to answer any questions you might have about the topic in general if you email me.
