Course brief & arrangement

THE PARK PROJECT 2012 / This Park is a sharing ground with people and things with their own memory. People exchenge their things and memories to recreate something new. Students learn how to create new value through this Work Shop.

Course Aims

In August 2010, Dai Fujiwara had a Work Shop with Taiwanese kids to re-make new clothes using their waste T-shirts and dresses. In this time, he would like to propose to do the same Work shop with your students. This is called "The Park Project 2012". The project aim is to create new product value by combining your unnessesary items and bring it up as informative format in order to connect again with our lives.

Content Summery

In this time with your students, he thinks that mixing can be not only clothes but also something else according to the different departments that participant students belong to.

Recommended Reference

Participants need to think and prepare what they wish to Mix together in advance. As a general rule re-producing process should be done in the school utilizing available tools in the school. So Glass or Plastic may not be suitable waste item as a material to work on unless school has some tool to reproduce such materials. Therefore he would like the supervisor in the school to decide available materials to use in the workshop.

Required Equipment

Just prepare some waste material to re-produce for yourself. For example 2 T-shirt dresses, 2 Hats, 2 tables, 2 chairs, 2 stationeries, anything you want. You may want to mix 2 different kinds if item together. This is something you need to plan and prepare in advance. But again whole process needs to be done in the school and pre-plan with school supervisor according to the available tools.

Presentation

Students need to photograph finished item and make a photo panel in size A3. Make sure that you need to complete your finish item within the time given for the workshop. You also must present your expense that took you to re-produce your finished item. Cost control must be fun to work on this project. You may want to look for all your garage and waste in your home to revive into something new and valuable. If you need to purchase something to achieve your own project, try not to spend much and find as less cost as possible.
