Biography

Dr Savin Chand is an Associate Professor Lecturer in Applied Mathematics and Statistics in the Institute of Innovation, Science and Sustainability  at Federation University Australia.

His research focus is primarily in the areas of mathematical and statistical modelling of weather and climate extremes and associated hazards in changing climate, and understanding their impacts and threats on environment and society in Australia and the Asia-Pacific regions.

Prior to joining Federation University Australia, Savin was a Research Scientist at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology where he worked in a number of research projects on climate change and extremes.
