Student Feedback

While I have not had a formal mentor evaluation process for undergraduates working with me on research projects, several have sent thank you notes or Christmas cards with very positive feedback on their experience. For example:

“I wanted to say thank you for all the opportunities through the past few semesters. They have honestly been some of the highlights of my undergraduate experience. I’m actually in the middle of applying or internships and the first thing I list is a working knowledge of HPLCs! You were a great mentor and I’m sure your newer undergrads will benefit greatly and appreciate it”

“Thank you for being my co-mentor and anchor of support this summer. I am grateful that you were almost always an “oops” away and eagerly helped me. My first laboratory research experience has been amazing because of your patience and understanding.”

These uninvited responses make me confident that I am doing a good job as a research mentor and provide motivation for me to continue working with students on research projects.
