Duration: October 2026 - September 2030
SPrInt is a research project in probability theory devoted to stochastic processes whose dynamics are modified by the presence of interfaces. Typical examples include sticky, skew and threshold-type dynamics, as well as singular Lévy-type processes.
The project studies the probabilistic construction and analysis of such processes, develops a unified framework based on local-time approximation and time changes, and explores applications to statistical inference and simulation.

A postdoctoral position for 12 months (extendable) is available.
Starting date: flexible, starting from 1 February 2027.
Location: Nancy, France
Profile: PhD in probability, stochastic analysis, or mathematical statistics for stochastic processes
The successful candidate will work primarily on probability and stochastic analysis questions related to stochastic processes with interfaces, with particular emphasis on Lévy-type singular processes and local-time approximation. Depending on the candidate’s profile and the progress of the project, interactions with statistical inference and simulation questions are also possible.
Salary: according to Université de Lorraine salary rules and the candidate’s recognised research experience
Less than 2 years of recognised experience: €2,130–€2,948 gross/month, approximately €1,683–€2,329 net/month
2 to less than 7 years of recognised experience: €2,300–€3,545 gross/month, approximately €1,817–€2,801 net/month
The final salary is determined by Université de Lorraine HR according to the candidate’s recognised experience. Net amounts are indicative. France provides extensive health and social security coverage.
