Who We Are

SANTIPUR MARAMI is a social welfare organization serving for upliftment of poor and needy people irrespective of caste, creed and colors through improvement of Health, Education and Environment.

SANTIPUR MARAMI was established on 12th April 2011 with its 15 nos founder members and was operating from the office of Central Govt Pensioner's Association, Dakhghar Poura Bazar, Santipur. From 1.1.2012 the office was shifted to L.K.Moitra Road, Santipur, Nadia.

Since then, we have been able to make aware people of getting rid of deadly demon Cancer, Thalassaemia through organizing various awareness camps in many remote places of Nadia District. We have been organizing Eye checkup in many schools in Santipur and adjacent areas by assisting the students to get specks, if needed, with the help of Govt. authorities. We have also been organizing Health camps in Schools by eminent doctors and also conduct Stem Cell registration.

We are also arranging Workshops to develop skills for self-employment among rural youth. Some of such activities include 'Detergent powder' production, 'Dry flower processing'- it's marketing & sales, ‘Clay pot painting to replace Plastic' production & sales. It's our satisfaction that few of the participants are engaged in respective business and has become the Earning member in the family.

For the sake of future generation of Santipur we have taken lot of pains to reprint & publish

'Santipur Parichay', ‘Book on Pt. Lakshmikanto Moitra' & 'Kartiick Charit' for present generation to become aware of their past. Apart from this, we organize Seminars wherein participants from different schools are invited to share the knowledge of eminent personalities for delivering their invaluable speeches on prevention of Cancer, issues like 'Black hole' etc

'Mritor ma amritang gamaya'- We try to bring Light for the Blind. 'Cornea' of a dead person can give light the blind. So far we have been able to collect 122 pairs of Cornea from different families in and around Santipur. 243 blinds can now see the Universe.

So far 3 distressed widows have been rehabilited with different Govt. assistance and financial help of members & others.

We strongly desire to establish Cornea collection center at Santipur so as to avoid the time delay while collecting cornea. Necessary infrastructure is required to be ready for which we are already on the job.

We also desire to build our own office in the centrally located place at Santipur.

Our Life Member, respected Shri Santimoy Dutta has donated numerous books and lump sum fund for establishing a Library at Santipur. On 10th January, 2020 a spiritual library with 500 books on different subject has been opened for interested readers.

Eco- friendly carry bag & Sanitary napkin production are the future thoughts in our mind so as to make our living place clean & beautiful.
