At Northwestern, my postdoctoral research is focused on designing and characterizing wide bandgap semiconductors for room-temperature hard radiation such as X-ray and gamma-ray detection. Our group collaborates with Freenman group from Northwestern Physics and Kanatzidis group from Northwestern Chemistry departments. One of the major goals is to develop semiconductor detector materials that are robust, high-performing (similar or better than the current bench-mark material, CZT), and cheaper.
