The Samford Hash tradition....
According to early members, Samford Hash was deliberately set up as a low-key, informal and family-friendly group. Early record-keeping was not very rigorous, and members had to back-track to work out when the 100th run was due!
Samford Hash has always included kids...
The group has always included keen runners and part time ones, fast walkers and slow one. Push chairs have always been a feature, and children (as well as dogs) have always played a part in group activities.
Walkers in the early days were known as Twalkers - for obvious reasons.
and dogs...
Hash Cash has always been kept in a tin which starts the year empty and has accumulated a couple of hundred dollars at year's end to pay for Christmas party drinks.
