ROAR is a searchable international Registry of Open Access Repositories indexing the creation, location and growth of open access institutional repositories and their contents. ROAR was created by EPrints at University of Southampton in 2003.
Open Educational Resources (OER)
OER is a comparatively a new phenomenon which is the results of Open Source Software (OSS) and Open Access (OA) movements. OER should be freely available over the Internet and as few restrictions as possible on the use of the resource. There should be no technical barriers, no price barriers and as few legal permission barriers as possible for the end-user (The Open Knowledge Foundation).
