Transport

In an ideal world, our dogs would go to rescue centres a few miles from the local authority stray kennels. Sadly, in many areas, this just isn't possible.

With so many dogs in real peril and so few vacant kennels, our dogs may have to travel to all four corners of the UK, just to find a rehoming centre that will take them in. We rely heavily on a committed band of dedicated volunteer transporters to move our dogs to safety - without them, we just couldn't save all these lives.

Transportation is a significant expense for us. Moving urgent dogs from the South East of England to rescues in the North can cost us in the region of £125.

With many of our volunteer transporters doing multiple long distances runs per week, we reimburse their fuel expenses.

A donation of just £3.50 will transport a dog another 10 miles
