6/15/2017 Camp of Instruction - Night Program. Fort Scott NHS
I used modified 1840s rules for this event since the fort is set to the 1840s. This rule set included dealing from the hand, no calling the turn, but no hockelty. Since I was portraying a soldier, the faro layout was my campaign roll. I had coppers as an option but made it clear it was a side bet and had to be requested rather than provided as a regular component of play. To make the game easier, I used a primitive case counter to keep the game interesting and engaging rather than using cue cards or guesswork. They are students after all, I wanted them to learn and have a good time.Â
