RHS Band students will be completing playing tests within the SmartMusic software. All students have been set up with a free account that may be used on the practice room subscription at RHS. Students may elect to purchase their own home subscription (allowing the student to complete assignments, practice, etc at home), but that is not required. The practice room computer will be available for SmartMusic use during D block, E block, Flex block and select days before/after school.
What is SmartMusic?
Submitting an assignment in the SmartMusic program:
Checking your grades from SmartMusic assignments:
Grades from all SmartMusic assignments will be entered into JumpRope as a standards reference grade (4,3,2,1 scale...see the Proficiency Based Grading page for more specific grading info).
What if I didn't get a 4 on my assignment? Log into SmartMusic via any computer/smartphone/tablet at gradebook.smartmusic.com. If you click on a class on the "My Home" screen, you will be able to see your submitted assignments (also available in "grade report"). Click on the assignment name to see more details, including a screenshot and recording of your assessment and any comments left for you by Mr. Barnett. For scores of less than 4.0, a comment will be included describing what can be done to achieve a higher score. If you wish to resubmit the assignment, please see Mr. Barnett so that individual scale/exercise can be reassigned to you. This can be done as many times as you wish until the end of the grading period.
