RHS Jazz Ensemble

The Rutland High School Jazz Ensemble is the premier performing group at RHS!  This group typically performs at 5-6 school concerts per year, the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, and at community and private events in the greater Rutland area.  The Jazz Ensemble often travels, performing at Six Flags New England, the Trills & Thrills Music Festival, and typically travels to Florida every four years.  In addition, the group hosts an alumni jazz night in early June.

The group performs a wide range of literature, ranging from jazz standards to big band classics, to rock and funk.  

Membership is by audition for students in grades 9-12 that play alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, drum set, or piano.  Auditions are typically held in early May with audition materials posted by mid April.
