Rupert Treasures is having a logo contest.  We have a new name, and are keen to better represent ourselves with a new logo.  To help guide those who would like to enter the Logo design contest, we are providing a description of who we are, and what we do.

Who we are:  Rupert Treasures is a sub-committee of the Youth Welfare Association of Rupert, which is a local not for profit organization, that operates the Rupert Community Centre.  R.T. runs a non-profit 2nd hand store in the basement.  We support the local community by offering quality reused / recycled items at a reasonable price. The proceeds of our sales go directly back into the local community as: donations to families in need; community programming for seniors, children and families; environmental sustainability projects; animal welfare initiatives; and more.

What we sell: household items, clothing, books, small appliances, baby items, tools, and more.

Key values that guide our work:

Recycling / Reusing / Circular process of redistributing,

Concern / Care

Community

Connectedness

Conscientiousness

Co-operation

Cornucopia of treasures

Environmental sustainability

Family

Ritual

Thrill of the thrift

Use of the logo:  The logo will appear on signage in the store, on our letterhead, in advertising, and on posters.

Size considerations:  We are open to having a smaller and a larger version of the image.  A smaller more concise version that could be used on letterhead, and a larger version with perhaps more details/features that could be used on our posters and signage.

Contest submission date:  Submissions can be made between now and June 17th.  Digital submissions to Ruperttreasures@gmail.com (Jpeg, PDF preferred). In person submissions at Rupert Treasures (24 Shouldice, Wednesday's 12-4PM, 6:30 - 8:30PM; Saturday's 12-4PM).

Contest Prize:  We will recognize the winning design in local media, and provide a $250 dollar prize.

Want to know more?  We also have an impact report that demonstrates many of our community impacts from 2022.  It is available online at YWAR.ca, or in person at RT.  If you have questions about the logo, design, or about our organization, feel free to stop by during open hours, or email us at Ruperttreasures@gmail.com
