Event Driven Architectures and Active Database Systems

Event Driven Architectures and Active Database Systems include a broad area of topics related to event-based computing and rules, especially when combined with the Semantic Technology stack.

In addition to this traditional area, the scope of RuleML-2016 will include the increasingly important area of Web of Things. New advances in event-based and rule-based systems combined with Semantic Technologies pose a great potential for a major contribution in this area. Things, as physical objects connected to Web, are producers and consumers of events. They may also execute event patterns and rules in order to process events. This may improve many applications in various domains and open up new possibilities. 

This track of RuleML-2016 conference brings together experts from academia and industry, as well as event and rule system providers, participants in rule standardization efforts, open source communities, practitioners, and researchers.

* Benchmarks, performance evaluations, and testbeds for Event-driven and Rule-based Systems

* Concrete applications, use-cases, deployments, and evaluations of Event-driven and Rule-based Systems in contexts such as Mobility, Smart Grid, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Homes, Smart Building, Smart Cities etc.

Submission

Papers must be original contributions written in English and must be submitted at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ruleml2016 (please enter the track name as the first line in the keywords section) as:

• • Full Papers (15 pages in the proceedings)

  • Short Papers (8 pages in the proceedings)

Please upload all submissions in LNCS format. To ensure high quality, submitted papers will be carefully peer-reviewed by 3 PC members based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Selected papers will be published in book form in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. The RuleML2016 special tracks will be published in the same book. Short papers may contain 1 extra page maximum for which there is a charge of US$200, while for long papers you are allowed 2 extra pages maximum for EACH of which there is a charge of US$200. A selection of the best papers from all tracks will be invited to be revised and extended for the post-conference publication in a Special Issue of TPLP (Theory and Practice of Logic Programming).
