The arts of theatre and dance require not only talent and commitment, but also proficiency in a wide variety of artistic skills and crafts. As a combined Department of several disciplines we are committed to modeling a professional production environment. It is through our collaboration on the mainstage of Tohill that we have the chance to show off what we as a group can accomplish. It also provides you the means and opportunity to become knowledgeable, well-rounded, resourceful and highly informed; creating a total artists who understands all aspects of their art.

All Theater and Dance majors should enroll in Practicum Production.

Course Requirements

1. 30 hours attendance at an assigned work call OR

2. Participation on a run crew for a Department Production.

3. If you are cast in a mainstage show your required hours drops to 15 for the semester.

4. If you are in a Lab production your requirement is 15 hours on the Lab production and 15 on a Department production

Some mechanics that will make things work smoothly

There is a google form (See below ) where you can sign up for your favorite three assignments.
Schedule your hours through Sign Up Genius. This will link you to the page.
Keep track of your hours and work calls. Make sure someone in charge signs off on them. Here is a handy worksheet to help.
At the end of the semester send an email to your teacher of record and your supervisor that says “Dear xyx I did xyz for my Practicum Production “
When in doubt ask Tom Fusco
