Poudre Canyon

Picture 1 above is Poudre Canyon heading West from 287 a high speed start coming out of the Fort on 287/14 brings you to the canyon entrance.

In the canyon Hwy 14 runs along the Poudre River for 40 miles of pleasant turns on a good road leading you to Cameron Pass.

Once past the the carved out tunnel and the tightest turn on the road you are presented with series after series of left and right turn combinations, great driving on a good road above the winding Poudre river below granite covered cliffs.

The rule of the road: watch your speed and don't tail gate as you pass small developments and the occasional passing lane.

Saint Vrain Canyon

Figure 2 Saint Vrain Canyon Route 7 Heading west from Lyons offers some of the best canyon driving on a good road. Several moderate corners lead to unexpected sharp turns so driver beware, it an exciting canyon along the Saint Vrain river below granite cliffs and spires so reminiscent of the high peaks in the Rocky Mtn Ntl Park.

This road is a bike favorite and is patrolled regularly, watch your speed.
