Tommaso Roscilde - Quantum Matter and Quantum Information

I am a physicist, working on many-body physics and quantum information. I am particularly fond of complex quantum systems, in which strong interactions lead to entanglement at the many-body level.

My research interests include:

- quantum simulation with AMO physics devices;

- quantum magnetism;

- non-equilibrium quantum dynamics of closed and open systems;

- entanglement-assisted metrology;

- numerical methods

(quantum Monte Carlo, variational Monte Carlo, semi-classical approaches, etc.)

Sept. 2012: Our paper on theory and experiment of the Bose glass appeared in Nature (issue of Sept. 19th 2012).

It is a collaboration with the Los Alamos National Laboratories, the University of Florida, the University of São Paulo, the Max-Planck Institute for Solid State Physics, Rice University and the University of Southern California.
