Landscape Abstracts

My recent landscapes are based on observations of, and reactions to the ever-changing patterns of sunlight and shadow found in Nova Scotia settings.

These paintings combine abstracted patterns of line, shape, and colour that evoke the familiar everyday scenes that we encounter on a walk through nature: a snow covered shoreline, a tranquil pond in the forest, or a grove of trees in autumn.
