From 1985 to 2015, my life revolved around archaeology. I worked on research projects in Italy and Britain, did cultural resource management at a variety of levels from shovel bum to project officer/principal investigator, and taught at an assortment of universities in Britain and Canada. I am now retired, and have moved on to other things.
My research specialized in the ‘long Middle Ages’ in Western Europe, but I’ve worked on material from a lot of different areas and periods. I was primarily an archaeologist, but worked extensively with documentary sources and art-based evidence, within an 'anthropological' perspective.
This site exists primarily as a summary of my 30 years as an archaeologist. It contains:
resources that I created that might be of interest to other archaeologists.
resources of help to university students.
information about some archaeological projects.
