Rodrigo Brum has a 30 year long career in Management at board level and has occasionally served on government organizations. He has been involved in consulting, including for UNDP, United Nations Development Program (having developed and coordinated the creation in Guinea-Bissau of GAIE, Gabinete de Apoio ao Investidor e à Empresa (Support Agency for Investors and Companies) in the context of one of the first private sector projects of the above mentioned agency).
While working for the government of Macau, as Chief of Cabinet with responsabilities for Economic and Financial Affairs, he coordinated the preparation of many projects, as Chairman of the Working Committee for the Cooperation Agreement between EU and Macau.
On numerous occasions he has established contacts with organizations such as EIB, European Investment Bank, World Bank/IFC, International Finance Corporation, OPIC, Overseas Private Investment Corporation.
His involvement with venture capital and private equity investments has led to the creation and management of a number of funds and projects. First as board member of API Capital, a vc co managing 175 M € in 5 funds, then in setting up funds, including overseas. His responsabilities included negotiation, aproval and follow-up of investments as well as divestments.
5 year Diploma Degree in Management and Business Administration by Lisbon Technical University`s Faculty of Economics (1978/1983). He also attended the MBA of New University of Lisbon, Management Faculty, in1986-1987 and University College London, Department of Civil and Municipal Engineering, between 1975 and 1978. In 1982 he attended a summer course at Università per Stranieri di Perugia.
