He began his career, in 1982, in the Studies Department of the Portuguese Foreign Investment Institute, where he later became its first Project Manager for the US Desk.
As a consultant he worked namely for UNDP, United Nations Development Program.
He was appointed for his first Board Member position in 1987 for Registrade, SARL while working as a Director of Assessores de Investimento, Lda and Telemanutenção, Lda.
While in Macau, during the nineties he was Chief of Cabinet for the government secretary of economy and finance and later Chairman and Managing Director of SPIC, Sociedade do Parque Industrial da Concórdia. He was also Board Member of the real estate companies Lei Pou Fat, SARL, Lei Tin, SARL, San Vai Ip, SARL, San Hou Kong, SARL, San Hung Fat, SARL, Tai Lei Loi, SARL, companies of Macau International Airport Business City and consultant to the board of IPIM-Instituto de Promoção e Comércio de Macau and SLOT, Sociedade de Lotarias e Apostas Mutuas de Macau, Lda.
Back in Portugal from 2000 till the end of 2006 he was an Executive Board Member of IPE, Estudos e Projectos Internacionais, SA, API Capital, Sociedade de Capital de Risco, SA and API Parques, Gestão de Parques Empresariais, SA and Board Member of HARII-Sociedade para o Desenvolvimento de Timor Lorosae, S.G.P.S., SA and Cabelte PI, S.G.P.S., SA; . He has also lectured in Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, Lisbon University`s faculty of economics and management.
In the beginning of 2007 he became a Managing Partner of EuroChina, Investment Projects, Ltd as well as Managing Director of MacauTech, New Technologies & Development Center, Ltd. He was involved in the launching of 3D Cities Macau, Ltd, where he was a Managing Director and led the setting up of BCNS, Ltd, a Private Investment Managers firm, until late 2009.
From March 2010 till September 2012 he was involved with PO (Programa Operacional) Algarve 21 in running EC funds for the Algarve region, with responsability for large projects and venture capital. From September 2012 until July 2014 he was Executive Board Member of INCM Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda,S.A. and President of both Multicert, S.A. and Legis Trust, S.A.. From September 2014 until July 2016 he managed EC funds for the Sea in PO Mar.
Until late 2020 he was Deputy Secretary-General of Forum Macau, in representation of the 8 Portuguese Speaking Countries for which he is developing an enterpreneurial association in GBA/China.
He is a member of the Strategic Council of the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry CCILC
