I am a Professor of Economics at Dublin City University Business School and Co-Director (with Michael Breen) of the DCU Anti-Corruption Research Centre (DCU ARC).
My main research focus is the causes and consequences of corruption. I am also interested in how institutions influence businesses and regulation.
I am Co-PI of the Irish Research Council funded project Corruption, Gender, and Sustainable Development (COGS) and serve on the Irish Government's Advisory Council against Economic Crime and Corruption. From 2019 to 2022 I served as Ireland's Local Research Correspondent on Corruption as part of an EU wide network.
You can find me on LinkedIn, BlueSky, IDEAS/RePEc, and ResearchGate. My CV can be viewed here.
I am interested in supervising and working with graduate students in my specific research areas and in the fields of Development, Political Economy, and Public Economics.
